I received Bad News
Last Night, my Uncle Rudy whom I loved dearly lost his battle with cancer. This was his second round with this horrible disease. The first time was over 25 years ago he had Mandibular Cancer. He played baseball in the major league in Cuba. He played for Havana which at the time he played was 2nd only to No. America baseball. He was a pitcher and later was a little league coach, who coach, Canseco (Both of them), A. Rod, A. Fernandez and so many more. He love the Yankees and was a true fan. His house was always open to those who had less, Every family member who came from Cuba had a stop at his house, at Christmas he invited everyone who was alone and felt that no one should be alone at Christmas. He was a loving father but a strong father, he loved his family and we all loved him.
Tio Rudy you will be miss. Love you La Artista (The Actress his nickname to me.
This picture was taken on Christmas Eve 2009He told my aunt that as long as he was alive Christmas Eve would be celebrated in his house, this was his last Christmas.

I Will Survive ***All About Me Challenge***
This one is for the All about me challenge, Soundtrack of My Life.
I did some journaling under the flowers but is not appropriate for minors so I rather keep it hidden, but I wanted to put it for my daughters when they become women.
These both qualify for this weeks Practical Scrapper use pattern pp challenge.
One of my Son.

Challenge #2
Home Sweet Home, I'm so glad to be home got in at midnight, after and 8 day stay at my BIL's in Massachusetts, We had a good time, and my BIL seems to be doing ok, he has a big will to live and is doing what ever it takes to get there. Cancer is horrible hope they can find a cure for it soon.
Getting down to the business on hand.
This one is different even for me. We are going to use Clorox to change the color on the cardstock. I saw this on a youtube video a while ago and I knew I had to try it.
Materials.
1. Clorox---few drops.
2. Stamp
3. Cardstock
4. stamp Pad
5. Embossing Powder.
Stamp your image on a piece of Cardstock and emboss using embossing powder. This step is important to keep the colors inside the lines.
Using a thin brush, brush the inside of your image with clorox or were ever you want the colors to change.
I made a Thank You card for my SIL. We stayed at her house for 8 days.
Remember if you do both challenges and link it here by midnight EST on January 31st, you will enter to win a $15.00 GC to your on line store of choice.

Sisters
Last one I did using more glimmer mist.
I'm visiting my In laws in MA, since the 12 and will be here until the 20th. and Baby It's Cold outside. The reason for our trip was not a very happy one my Brother in Law who has stage 4 cancer was going in for a surgery yesterday thank God all is as well as could be expected. He should be going home soon and Stan is spending quality time with him, Natalie and I are just enjoying the fallen snow at my other BIL house since Natalie has a little cold.
We have had quite the experience yesterday locking ourselfs outside the house for close to 2hours not fun, but we tried to make the best of it.
Natalie took Ice Skating lesson from my SIL. Now we are going to bundle up and go take some pictures of the ducks. First making sure the doors are unlocked.
When I get back I will post my next challenge, It's something quite interesting that I saw a video off last year on youtube so stay tune.

First Challenge
This year I'm going to start doing some bi-weekly challenges on Techniques. I'm posting them at scrappin mojo and thought I can post them here also. If you do both of this months challenge I will put you in a drawing for a $15.00 GC at your favorite on line store. I'm not always going to have a GC but since it's my first one I will.
Our First Challenge Misting (any brand)
Here are a few steps I have learned along the way....Hope it help you.
I don't have a mat, so I make one by wrapping plastic wrap around my cutting mat, It works great and does the job.
I used Olive Vine for this project
With a paper towel you can get all the excess that is left on your mat and distress the page.
Distress your page
Make your own pattern/screen
Finished LO.
For your Challenge I would like to see, your own pattern/screens and the edges of your LO distressed all with Mist any brand even home made ones are welcome. Hope you all play.
Add a link with your LO it can be on a blog or on line gallery.
